Roland was born and raised on a farm in western Oklahoma. Upon graduating from high school, he spent two years in the United States Army before graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.  He began his career working in forest operations in south Louisiana before joining ATI in 1977 as a Procurement Officer. In 1992, he was promoted to Vice President of Timber Procurement. His duties include sourcing logs and pulpwood for ATI’s sawmills in Bearden, Malvern, and Beirne.
